Afraid of All In with God: Day 3

Why should we go All In with God? Why should we give our lives over to God, trusting him for his use for us rather than our own design for ourselves?
Because we began there.
The greatest deception of our time is that we somehow originated outside of the exclusive, deliberate and purposeful design of God:
Each of us began as a soul, got birthed into a temporary body, and will return to God's physical presence when we leave stage one (our earthly life) to begin stage two (our eternal life).
We scurry like mice running for cover away from the light of this truth. We embrace musings that we somehow launched life inexplicably through evolution, though every single function of our bodies, physically and emotionally, belies that. We can outline the incredible order of the universe that enables breath in our bodies and then attribute it to some random gathering or big bang of events.

We must look like silly little mice to God. If we lived before the steam of the argument for evolution--before the 1800's--would we even be tempted by that mousetrap? I wonder if it was easier then to embrace our origin as the exclusive design of God.

James 4 provides wisdom for our mice mentality:
So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper.
Why are we the ones scampering? James continues:
Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin [mousetraps]. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field [of evolution and other origin arguments]. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.
We should ponder how excited the Devil must be when we attribute our existence to anything and everything except God. We do his work for him. That cheese lures us right into the most deadly mousetrap of all:
Denying our origin with God is All In with the Devil.
Choose carefully. Mousetraps kill.

Tomorrow: The ballfield of life.
