My 3-year-old granddaughter said to her mom, “I like your husband.” A bit startled, her mom asked why. “Because he gives me candy.”
That’s what I want--the wit and wisdom of a 3-year-old, not yet trampled by life’s grievances, happily steeped in the fresh perspective of each new day. Today, her daddy is her mommy’s husband; tomorrow she is free to find a new way he fits into her growing world. Like all young children, she ponders, learns, and then ponders some more.
Let’s ponder, learn, and then ponder some more. This blog is designed to be the learning between the pondering points of each publication of my column, “Feed Your Strength,“ in the online magazine, You Are REAL.
In the November, 2011 issue, we launch our journey with twin topics: the power of cumulative and voices in our head. If we are going to feed our strength, then we need to meet head-on any culprits that try to rob us of energy and hope. We need to ponder deeply that every decision of our day either feeds our strength or feeds our weakness, and then understand the power of cumulative that life pours out and discuss openly the concept of competing voices in our head--some critical, some encouraging. How can we break this into small, tortoise-paced, daily victories?
Beginning Monday, October 3, 2011, three posts a week will outline concepts and ways to ponder your life’s circumstances, inviting you to consider how you can feed your own strength, uncovering hope and new energy for your calling. Change is work, and unless your life is exactly the way you want it to be, know that work is in the offing. But succeeding is its own energy and that kind of work simply energizes us to learn and ponder more.
We are glad you are here.
