Dads and the Image of God

God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet.
Dads can make everything come out right; they help us get on our feet.
He showed Moses how he went about his work; opened up his plans to all Israel.
Dads pass down their know-how; they open up vistas of the world to us that we might step out on our own one day.
God is sheer mercy and grace; not easily angered, he's rich in love.
Dads grant mercy and grace to us as we learn self-control. They are patient and rich in love.
He doesn't endlessly nag and scold, nor hold grudges forever.
Though we often mistreat our dads, especially in our know-it-all youth, they graciously bear with us through those days and amazingly, forget them as we become adult friends.
As parents feel for their children, God feels for those who fear him.
I was richly loved by my dad, and as I loved and respected him, I was moved to trust the love of God.

Thanks, Dad. Your love was my first entry to the very image of God.
