The New Year: Making God's Name Safe in Our Mouth

Professionals interviewed a group of 4 to 8 year-olds with this question:
What does love mean?
My hands-down favorite answer came from Billy, age 4:
When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know your name is safe in their mouth.
If we let ourselves believe--and then remember--we know that our own names are safe in the mouth of God. Because he created each of us uniquely, he loves each differently and completely. That is his promise*, so we are assured that our names are kept safe there.

But is his name safe in our mouth? What would that mean to him?

Would it just be beautiful and completing and heart-rendering to him to have us care delicately and diligently about keeping his name safe in our mouth?

What would that look like?
Praise for him.
Interest in him.
Living with him.
God, many times your name has not been kept safe in my mouth. Help that be less and less true. Please keep before me the incredible truth of Billy--that when we love you, you'll just know that your name is safe in our mouths.
