Imagine a room, a car, a yard, a shower.
Peace places come in all shapes and sizes.
In common is invitation.
Our hearts open up with invitation to the Living God.
He sees that we are intentional about knowing Him better, for we have set aside time to visit our peace place. We may read or ponder or listen or pray--whatever navigates the waters of relationship to be with Him for these moments rather than with the world.
Peace will grow in our place if we allow it, trading our anxiety and depression and fear for moments with God. We can become immersed and mesmerized by all things God when we give Him time, our concerns, and our willingness to hear Him.
The world will tear away at each day's growth toward peace. Sometimes we'll wonder if our spirits will ever get substantial roots of peace to take hold. Trials seem neverending.
Sometimes growth comes through tearing, or loss, or pain, or the rockiest of circumstances. Each day's peace feels out of our reach yet we continue to visit our place.
If we persevere, we will turn up in our peace place one day and realize with a smile that peace has never been absent. God has been fashioning peace around the root system of our lives, digging and stirring up that which needs to be uprooted and discarded, making room for new growth and a new sturdy.
I hope your peace place finds you there today. I think God will be happy with His invitation.
