The Bible is different from every other book. We read all other books, but we let the Bible read us.What in the world might that mean?
Perhaps it reads our hopelessness meter and shoots hope into our souls with precision timing and dosage.
Perhaps it reads the crazy in our lives and matches us up with just the right crazy in the lives of biblical characters: living in a fish for three days? listening to a burning bush? And we think we know crazy.
Or, perhaps it reads our love tanks--the heart fuel we run on--and sees how low they are and how we try to operate nearly in the red, ignoring the profuse love of God to chase a lesser love that the world sells. Wrong octane. We sputter and even grind to a halt.
The bible is the craziest collection of hope and love--promised to each and every one of us--that has ever been written.
It reads our need of this promise...and delivers.
Let's...let...it...read...us.
