Ask God for an Hour

We get an extra one overnight tonight--an extra hour. Or, depending on how you think about it, we at least get back the hour we "lost" last spring.

So it might be okay to ask God for an hour to:
Live out of our blessings rather than our labor.
Living out of our labor is being overwhelmed by our to-do list. Many of us live out of our labor on a day-to-day basis.

Living out of our blessings is bringing to the forefront of our mind all the riches we have in Christ:
Family. Church. Breath. Shelter. The ability to give to another. Love that forgives and receives forgiveness. A heart for Christ. A willingness to serve. Food. Shoes. Clothing. New life. Friends to listen to and comfort us. Community. Twenty-four hours from which to select one to share exclusively with God. Authors who have pondered the mysteries of the Living God. Persecution that drives us more deeply into our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Autumn leaves. The chill in the air. Coffee, any way you like it. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter--examples of technology that give us new and unique voice and connection. That still, small voice that speaks truth when we render our hearts to hear.
Asking God for an hour for remembrance of blessings is already answered. In fact, even if it wasn't the weekend to recover our hour, there would be an hour available for living out of our blessings. It would be one of our normal twenty-four.

Living out of our blessings would sweeten our day. It would probably bring God the greatest joy.

What if your kid thanked you joyfully for an hour?
