For most of us, there is always some hurdle, some circumstance in our lives that leads us to believe that if that one thing could get relieved, we could breathe more easily and things would go well.
Then somehow it gets relieved only to reveal...the next hurdle.
These hurdles, these steep climbs may, in fact, actually be arranged by God Himself. Why on earth would a God who has our best interest at heart just be creating an obstacle course?
Because He knows we are wired for the climb. Somehow we discover our best selves when the going gets tough and we get tougher in the completion of a difficult part of our life journey.
Watch a young child. Is he more satisfied with himself after being served with no effort on his part or when he has to work and strengthen to figure out or endure a problem?
We are all children in this life journey, preparing for our profound entry into eternity. It is there that these steep climbs will make sense and our skillsets gained in facing them even more useful.
So tell yourself what you tell your children: You can do it. Don't give up. I believe in you.
Before you know it, another hurdle completed...a new skill gained for eternity.
